Newsletter – August 2025
06/10/25A Note from Us
August always brings with it a sense of anticipation, of seasons changing, projects taking shape, and the excitement of looking ahead. This month, we’re delighted to share updates from Hampstead, as well as insights on navigating the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) and what this means for our clients.
It’s also been a moment to reflect on some recent highlights, including our feature in Country & Town House’s “10 Titans of Design”, a celebration of the visionaries shaping the future of interiors in the UK. We’re equally excited to spotlight some exquisite new arrivals from Howes & Landino and, dare we say it, remind you to start your Christmas shopping early with timeless pieces designed to be treasured!
New Project Announcement: Hampstead
We’re currently immersed in several private homes in Hampstead, one of London’s most sought-after addresses. Known for its village charm, leafy streets, and proximity to Hampstead Heath, the area combines heritage character with easy city access.
This projects involves reimagining a 10,000 sqft family residence, transforming it with a fresher, lighter palette and a renewed sense of openness. Classical plasterwork defines the main rooms, complemented by gilded mouldings, an opulent chandelier, and elegant parquet flooring. Silk wallpapers, panel mouldings, and patterned marble bring further layers of refinement, echoing the home’s opulent style while remaining harmonious with its contemporary spirit. Inspiration has also been drawn from the surrounding landscape, with soft natural tones, tactile textures, and bespoke joinery balancing grandeur with ease.
With beloved pets at the heart of the household, particular attention is being paid to resilient yet elegant finishes, from performance fabrics to custom cabinetry designed for daily life. The aesthetic is quietly contemporary, layered with warmth and personality, ensuring a home that feels both deeply comfortable and enduringly timeless.
Navigating BSR: What It Means for Our Clients
The introduction of the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) under the Building Safety Act 2022 is reshaping how high-rise developments are designed, built, and managed. With stricter safety standards, more rigorous approvals, and greater resident engagement, BSR is an important factor for many of our clients who own homes in multi-storey buildings.
At Taylor Howes, we’ve been proactive in adapting to this evolving landscape. Just last month, we successfully submitted three projects for BSR approval, helping ensure that our clients’ homes not only meet the highest standards of safety but are delivered with clarity, confidence, and minimal disruption.
