Pitch Perfect: Key Takeaways from Our “Life’s a Pitch” Workshop with Pitch Ninjas

Earlier this month, we welcomed Pitch Ninjas in our studio for an energising workshop on the art of communication and storytelling. From mastering your message to building confidence in every conversation, the workshop was packed with powerful insights that apply whether you’re presenting to a boardroom, or simply introducing your brand to the world.

Here are a few of the top takeaways we noted down:

1. Start with them, not you
One of the most common pitching mistakes? Opening with “I’m excited to tell you about…” Instead, lead with your audience’s world, what keeps them up at night, what they care about, and how you can help solve it.

2. Stories are your secret weapon
People don’t remember data, they remember how you made them feel. A good pitch tells a story of a challenge faced, a transformation achieved, or a vision for the future.

3. Don’t just list features, highlight outcomes
Rather than listing everything you or your business can do, focus on what truly matters to your listener. What results have you delivered? What change can you create? Keep it sharp, and always end with a clear, actionable next step.

4. Communication is the new leadership
As AI and automation take on more tasks, our human ability to inspire, influence, and build trust becomes the defining skill of modern leadership. Great leaders today aren’t just experts, they’re compelling communicators.

Summer Swishing for a Cause

Earlier this month, we held in our studio one of our favourite annual traditions: Summer Swishing, our charity auction in support of Place2Be, the incredible children’s mental health charity.
Each year, the team at Taylor Howes donates a selection of cherished items to be auctioned off to the highest bidders, with 100% of proceeds going directly to Place2Be. This year’s event was no exception, bringing together our team for an evening of generosity, community, and purpose.
Giving back is part of our DNA. Our founder, Karen Howes, has been a passionate supporter of Place2Be for over 15 years, having raised substantial funds for the charity’s vital work supporting children’s mental health across the UK.

Project Highlight

Outdoor Living at Sloane Square Townhouse
As summer arrives with sunnier days, we’re delighted to spotlight the outdoor transformation at Sloane Square Townhouse, a Grade II* listed Arts & Crafts home in Chelsea.
While we reimagined the interiors with our signature Taylor Howes elegance, the gardens have been sensitively restored by landscape designer Jane Brown, working alongside Adam Architecture. Originally laid out by Gertrude Jekyll in the 1920s, the gardens have been re-planted and re-shaped over six years to reflect Jekyll’s vision with a modern twist.
Jane Brown’s beautiful hand-drawn sketches, featured above, show a harmonious blend of heritage and contemporary style. The grounds now offer serene planting, elegant pathways and thoughtful outdoor entertaining areas, all designed to complement the refined interiors.
This project is a celebration of a unique design, where the indoors and outdoors come together to create a timeless, peaceful retreat, perfect for summer living.
