This May at Taylor Howes, we’ve celebrated the spirit of connection – through exceptional craftsmanship at London Craft Week, the launch of inspiring new collaborations, and meaningful initiatives in support of Mental Health Awareness Week.
From wellness moments in our studio to design-led experiences, May has been a reflection of what we value most: creativity, community, and purposeful collaboration.
London Craft Week Highlights
It’s been a truly inspiring London craft week, and we were delighted to celebrate the art of making, through two standout events:
- Howes & Landino x Adam Williams – The Embrace Collection launch
In an exciting new collaboration, Howes & Landino unveiled the embrace collection with sculptor Adam Williams during London craft week. This bold, jewellery-inspired series of sculptural tables merges artistry with functionality, honouring meticulous craftsmanship and design storytelling.
From marble and kiln-formed glass surfaces to hand-forged bronze finishes, the collection is a testament to the power of collaboration and creative vision.
- Goossens x Taylor Howes – ‘Meet The Makers’ Evening
We closed craft week with an enchanting evening at the Goossens London boutique. From gilded creations to storied craftsmanship, the event offered an intimate look at the legendary maison’s savoir-faire. A huge thank you to the Goossens team for such a special collaboration.
- Chelsea in bloom: Flower Trends & Garden Inspirations
This year’s Chelsea Flower Show was nothing short of breathtaking – a true celebration of nature’s beauty, resilience, and emotional power. The floral trends we spotted were rich and evocative, with an abundance of foxgloves, velvety plum hues, and soft apricot tones setting the palette across many of the gardens. A particular favourite was the recurring presence of flowering dogwood trees (Cornus kousa chinensis), with their delicate beauty adding a romantic touch to almost every space.
Sustainability took centre stage, with several gardens highlighting the therapeutic and restorative power of green spaces. The ADHD Garden drew attention to the mental health and wellness benefits of being immersed in nature – a topic that feels more timely than ever.
One garden that left a lasting impression was The Glasshouse Garden, designed as a celebration of second chances. It supports women at the end of prison sentences through horticultural training and resettlement. A deeply moving concept brought to life through thoughtful planting.
Monty Don’s Dog Garden quickly became a personal favourite. With its slightly lived-in feel and lush, layered planting, it echoed the soul of a real, working garden – the kind that evolves with time, dogs, and seasons.
Another standout was Kazuyuki Ishihara’s “Cha No Niwa” (Japanese tea garden) – a serene masterclass in harmony and balance, reminding us how powerful design can be when simplicity and purpose work hand in hand.
On our personal wishlist after this year’s show?
A flowering dogwood, a Ginkgo biloba tree, and the show-stopping Papaver somniferum ‘Lauren’s Grape’ (a velvety, plum-hued poppy that was a recurring star throughout the show).
- Mental Health Awareness Week
This May, we were proud to support mental health awareness week, embracing this year’s theme of ‘community’.
At Taylor Howes, we understand the value of a connected, supportive environment, one that nurtures both wellbeing and creativity. Throughout the week, the studio hosted a series of thoughtful initiatives aimed at encouraging mindfulness, gratitude, and meaningful connection.
From wellness activities to curated resources, the team came together to reflect, recharge, and reinforce the importance of looking after ourselves and one another.
It was a meaningful reminder of the strength we find in community, both inside and beyond the studio.
