The latest edition looks at what can we expect in 2022 in our homes. Collated in house, the report analyses the market and trends.

Having not been able to travel and experience true hospitality for the past 18 months, our clients have increasingly enquired about creating spaces within the home that echo the experiences one can enjoy at a ultra luxury hotel; from indoor bowling alleys to basement nightclubs. With requests such as basement nightclubs or member club-style lounges, we have been able to show real creativity and create designs that are a little out there; a benefit for designing spaces that aren’t used on an everyday level. From eglomise wall art to extravagant trims and finishes, our clients are embracing bolder looks for these home entertainment spaces. In the last year we have been working on a vast 66,000 square foot property that has a cocktail lounge, spa, poker room and 50 seater-cinema integrated into the design – our clients want their homes to be the centre of their worlds and offer ultra hospitality to friends and family. Technology is becoming a bigger factor to this trend too. From designing futuristic VR rooms to being tasked with designing bespoke chairs for gaming in style, 2022 is the year we expect to integrate cutting edge technology so that clients can feel fully immersed within their homes. The luxury of 7 Star at-home entertainment is that it provides the ultimate sense of escapism whilst remaining indulgently comfortable.


Whilst travel is back on the cards, we still expect to see ultra luxurious requests moving into the new year. One such desire is to create at-home spas and we have worked with C.P Hart on a Japanese-inspired at-home spa collaboration. Increasingly, our clients are looking to incorporate steam rooms, saunas and even massage rooms into their bathroom suites and our collaboration at C.P Hart showcases how this can be achieved within the everyday home. Integrated sound systems are to be expected and mood lighting which automatically dims according to the time of day – or bathroom activity taking place – lends that extra level of detailing and escapism. Whilst you may still be at home, you’d be forgiven for thinking you’d entered a remote sensory spa situated high up in the Japanese mountains.
